Location

Kingfisher Bay Resort is situated on the western bay of Fraser Island, known as K'gari, the world's largest sand island. The resort serves as a strategic starting point for exploring the island's pristine beaches, freshwater lakes, and ancient rainforests. Guests can participate in ranger-guided tours, kayaking, and 4WD adventures to uncover the natural beauty surrounding the facility.

Accommodation

The resort offers a diverse range of accommodations, including hotel rooms, self-contained villas, and holiday houses for up to 15 guests. Each option is designed with comfort and accessibility in mind, providing options like king-size beds, spacious living areas, and private balconies. Guests can choose from eco-retreats surrounded by nature or larger holiday homes catering to families and groups.

The Sunset Bar offers a relaxed setting for tropical beverages while guests enjoy scenic sunset views.

Highlights

Location: World Heritage-listed Paradise

Accommodation: Three Bedroom Premier Villa and Standard Resort Room

Dining: Sand & Wood Restaurant and Dune Restaurant

Wellness: Island Day Spa with soothing treatments

Entertainment: Illumina light show exclusive to guests

“I think this eco-conscious resort, nestled in Fraser Island, focuses on family adventure with its ranger-guided walks and access to lagoon-style pools; however, I noted that the dining aims high with bush tucker-inspired cuisine at award-winning restaurants. With direct ferry access from Hervey Bay, it promises a nature-based retreat, but I suspect the real draw might be the exclusive Illumina light show. Overall, it sounds like a place of great potential.”
